Week 3: (18 February 2019 - 22 February 2019)

Activity:
  1. Surveying the suitable components to use on the project.
  2. Preparing a components checklist for Ultrasonic Transmitter and Receiver.
Objective:
  1. To confirming the suitable components for use on the system project.
  2. To do some detailing research regarding Ultrasonic Transducer Sensor.
Content/Procedure:
  1. Continued on surveying and researching the suitable components for maintaining the performance of the system design as the proposed project last semester.
  2. Confirming to use either Arduino or Raspberry Pi as the microcontroller.
  3. Performing some simulation for testing the Ultrasonic Sensor module for understanding its operation.
  4. Buying some components for Ultrasonic Transducer Sensor(Transmitter and Receiver).
Ultrasonic Simulation
Result & Analysis:
  1. Arduino Uno had been chosen as a microcontroller for the system project as the Raspberry Pi was usually used for a project that involved with interfacing with an internet connection and something like that.
  2. A simple circuit of Ultrasonic Sensor was simulated using Proteus and Arduino IDE Software Tools.
Result for HC-SR04 Module

Coding 1

Coding 2
  1. Proceed on buying components for Ultrasonic Transmitter and Receiver part.
  2. Constructing a Reciever Transducer circuit.
Components that had been purchased
Receiver Circuit Testing
Conclusion:
  1. A selection had been made for the microcontroller of the system project.
  2. A coding had been tested for the Ultrasonic Sensor and it shows that the signal reading from the sensor had been converted to 1024 data to the microcontroller. Therefore a new formula must be elaborate in order to convert the new Ultrasonic Sensor Receiver module signal into a voltage or distance reading.
